kark.com – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Arkansas cat faced tough contestants: Bad Kitty 5,000 was facing off against Munchie McPurryToes, who faced challenger Orange Julius Caesar Salad and Goofus McDoof Business Horse.

But Cheddar Big Booty Cheeseburger brought home the win for Arkansas in the wackiest cat name competition. Nationwide Pet Insurance hosts the annual contest, with winners chosen by online votes for a week in April.

Chan Singkhek, the cat’s owner, said Cheddar Big Booty Cheeseburger grew from a stray kitten she adopted to a fairly big cat, drawing a similarity to a pretty big cheeseburger.

“He’s always just been a little bit larger of a kitten, and just as he started developing into a more of an adult cat, I couldn’t quite pick him up anymore with just one hand. It became two, so it was like holding a burger. So Cheddar Cheeseburger fit,” Singkhek said.

But Cheddar Cheeseburger wasn’t enough, because it turns out the big cat likes its butt scratched, according to Chan, so the booty became the second factor in the naming, and thus Cheddar Big Booty Cheeseburger.

“He started to develop this habit of, ‘I love having my butt scratched,’ so he would like, present his butt, and it got to a point you could do bongo drums,” Singkhek said.

Top Dog honors for wackiest name went to a Plott Hound from San Antonio, Texas, named Internet Browser. The Top Exotic title went to Space Cowboy, a bearded dragon that is, according to officials, “living life on his own terms from Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.”
