Currently, pornography is one of the common addiction Gen Z faces. Porn is easier to gain access to. All you need is a website, the internet, and if you know what ‘porn’ means you’ll get full access to it. We all have seen porn before, but for minors, it is far more accessible than before. And when you keep on viewing this media more, the less confident you become, and your mental health will start to decrease. Soon you’ll find yourself wanting to be in these films, developing lust, a deadly sin in Christianity. Social media like Instagram tend to show softcore porn as a way to ‘trap’ users into viewing more, trying to hook them into the app for the longest. But this will be in another blog post soon about social media. So, this week we will discuss why and how without porn, your life will get better.

How Porn Damages Your Brain

One of my favorite yt channel for mental health research, Psych2Go released a video on how pornography damage your brain. Here’s some highlists from this vid.

“Choosing no porn can lead to a healthier mindset and better relationships.

  1. Porn rewires your brian similar to drug addiction – Everytime you watch it, dopamine is released (a neurotransmitter responible for pleasure and reward in your brain) the more porn you consume the more Delta FosB (regules the reward system in your brain aka dopamine release) is release, making porn addiction very difficult to quit. Because your brain is now tied to crave it constantly.

2. Negative Impact on Relationships – Porn rules the internet, there are millions of pornography imagery/videos available on the internet, with tons of different kinks and styles (animated, gaming, cartoon, anime, bdsm, softcore, hardcore, etc…) When you see this stuff, trying to have sex with your partner, your most likely wouldnt be satisfy with your partner because it isn’t what you image it from the first place. Andrew Huberman, an American Neuroscientist quote “there is good data to support the idea that if your brain learns to be aroused by watching other people have sex, it is not necessarily going to carry over to the ability to get aroused when you’re one-on-one with somebody else.” To simply put, with people with porn addiction negatively impact a person’s ability to feel sexually satisfied with their partners due to desensitization.

The impact of no porn is profound; individuals often report improved focus and enhanced emotional connections with their partners.

Adopting a no porn lifestyle can significantly reduce feelings of anxiety and depression, contributing to overall well-being.

The more porn you consume the more you develope a tolerance for it casuing cave more to feel stimulated, when dopamine reaches its peak, the less you’ll feel sexually satisfied.

By choosing no porn, many find they regain control over their sexual health and desires.

Ultimately, embracing a no porn approach fosters healthier sexual relationships and personal growth.

3. Sexual Dysfunction and Erectile Dysfunction – In a study published in the journal military medicine men who craved porn rather then their sexual partners are better to develope ED, losing their boners.

Benefits of Quitting Porn

Remember, no porn can lead to a more fulfilling life, free from the burdens of addiction. You tell yourself it’s harmless. Just a quick release. No big deal. But what if porn is secretly draining your energy, confidence, and happiness—and you don’t even realize it?

Quitting porn isn’t about shame or morality. It’s about taking back control of your mind, your motivation, and your relationships. Here’s what happens when you stop—and how to make it stick.

Your Energy and Motivation Skyrocket

Porn drains your dopamine—the brain chemical that drives ambition and focus. After quitting, many men report:

  • No more afternoon slumps
  • Easier to start (and finish) projects
  • Feeling naturally more driven

Your Confidence in Real Life Improves

Watching porn trains your brain to get satisfaction from pixels, not real people. When you quit:

  • Eye contact becomes effortless
  • Flirting feels natural, not forced
  • You stop feeling like a “creep” around women

Your Relationships Get Stronger

Porn twists expectations of sex, intimacy, and attraction. Without it:

  • You appreciate real partners more
  • Sex feels more satisfying
  • You stop comparing real women to fake fantasies

The Bottom Line

Quitting porn isn’t about deprivation—it’s about upgrading your life. More energy. Better confidence. Stronger relationships.

But fair warning: once you experience the benefits… you might not want to go back.
